One of the questions I’m asked the most is “what is your favorite fitness studio in NYC?”
I mean, WHOA, what a loaded question guys…I can’t say I have a straight answer! What I do know is that I have tried a ton of boutique studios and gyms, thanks to ClassPass and my urge to explore all the fitness options NYC has to offer. Whether you are interested in boxing, yoga, or HIIT - I know just the place.
So without further ado, I'm excited to share my top 5 studios that I've experienced firsthand throughout my years of NYC livin. Check ‘em out, and hope you love.
Happy sweating, friends!

TOP FIVE PLACES TO SWEAT IN NYC
BEST SPIN CLASS: SoulCycle
C’mon – you guys knew this was coming! As if I don’t talk about SoulCycle enough, it truly is my favorite spinning class in the city. I know, I know – it’s not on ClassPass, it’s expensive – but let’s just get one things straight. SoulCycle is WORTH IT. It’s therapy. I don’t go that often so when I do, it’s a real treat. I’m completely in love with the vibes of each class, the dark lit rooms and the music, not to mention the constant motivation that is flowing throughout the class. 95% chance of happy tears post Soul because I LOVE IT THAT MUCH. Personally I go to SoulCycle NoHo, but ya can’t go wrong with any studio or instructor, but check out Noah or Olivia. Thank me later.
BEST BOXING CLASS: Overthrow Boxing
It’s no secret that boxing has become a trendy workout, but Overthrow keeps it completely authentic. Nestled on the corner of Bowery and Bleecker, Overthrow’s vibe is overall badass – from the décor to the workout. The studio only employs boxing pros as instructors who are strict about form, which I love. If you want to learn how to box and get an awesome workout in the process, Overthrow is your spot. They have two kinds of classes, so make sure to read the descriptions. Brian and Sergio are my faves, and the brand just opened a new studio in Brooklyn. I'll meet you in the underground.
BEST HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL CLASS: The Fhitting Room
I’m freaking obsessed with The Fhitting Room. I love the fact that there are two instructors per class so that there’s attention being paid to each person, and that this class is designed to make you WERK. I’ve learned a ton of weight lifting form due to this class which is a major plus. Game face is 100% required because you always leave breathless thanks to the daily FHIX, the studio's signature and killer finisher. My favorite Fhit Pros are Dennys and Daury – they won’t go easy on ya!
BEST YOGA CLASS: Sweat Yoga
It’s not a secret that I don’t do a whole lot of yoga. My sister recently introduced me to Sweat Yoga downtown in Tribeca and it was a yoga gamechanger for me. The classes are nicely spaced out so you’re not sweating all over each other and the teacher was extremely helpful in adjusting during practice. I highly recommend Holly!
BEST BARRE CLASS: Physique 57
I swore barre off until I stepped into Physique 57’s signature class. No joke. I hated it! But I really love P57’s class approach– it begins with a weighted section and then broken down by body part. The positive vibes are oozing out of the studio’s team – from the front desk to the instructor. The burn is real. I admit I’ve only been a handful of times but I recommend Natalie.
